What to know about private charters on Lake Tahoe

Private charter means the whole boat is reserved for your group. Most Tahoe operators offer charters. Pricing isn't always published — you contact the operator for a quote.

When charter makes sense vs public

For groups of 15-50, charter usually wins. Cost can be marginally more than buying enough public tickets, but you get the whole boat: privacy, customizable timing, BYO food (most charters allow), decorations, and a custom route. For groups of 50+, charter is the only option (only M.S. Dixie II accommodates 50+ on public cruise).
